Prof. Dr. Georg Herzwurm
is Professor (C4) since 2003 and holds the Chair for Business Administration and Information Systems II, esp. business standard software at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. From 2000 to 2003 he had been Professor at the Technical University of Dresden. His main research and work areas are product development, software quality management and the development and application of Information Systems. In 1998 Prof. Dr. Georg Herzwurm habilitated in Information Systems with the exploratory focus of software quality management and received a PhD in Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) in 1992. After his academic studies in business administration, he had been assistant professor at the Chair for Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne. Besides his university career he takes an active part in the development of QFD methods. He is founder and speaker of the board of the German OFD Institute (QFD-ID). Since 1997 he represents German interests in the International Council for QFD (ICQFD). 2000 he received the international Akao-Prize for outstanding contributions to the further development and support of the Quality Function Deployment method. 2001 he was awarded with the honorary membership in the Iran Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) by the Amirkabir University of Technology, Teheran, Iran.
Prof. Dr. Wolfram Pietsch
is Senior Professor for Business and Information Management at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences since 1999. From 1992 to 1999 he had been consultant at the ExperTeam AG, where he was responsible for tasks in software engineering and management. After his academic studies in business administration he was research assistant at the Universities of Dortmund and Münster and received a PhD with a dissertation on software project management. He is co-founder and member of the board of the German QFD Institute and has been pioneering the introduction, adaptation, and enrichment of QFD in business and research since many years. Amongst his current research concern is the employment and integration of QFD for business management, i.e. project management, marketing and strategic planning and its tailoring for different industry branches. 2009 he received the international Akao-Prize for outstanding contributions to the further development and support of the Quality Function Deployment method.
In 2008 the book "Management von IT-Produkten" was released in the publishing house dpunkt. It emerged from combined research of Prof. Herzwurm and Prof. Pietsch as well as various seminars and practical work.
