The IREB provides a universal and proven concept to standardize the qualification of requirements engineers/business analysts. The focus is on requirements engineering for software products with the generally non-separable system view considered.

The IREB's Concept Comprises:

• Stipulation of the three-tier certification model referred to as "Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering".

• Definition of syllabi for degrees of certification based on each other.

• Elaboration of exams for achieving the certificate of the respective level.

• Collaboration with certifiers to ensure an internationally unified exam procedure.

• Recognition of training providers that commit themselves to conduct trainings in line with the respective IREB syllabi.
