Content of the Exam

The content of the CPRE Foundation Level exam is defined in the Foundation Level syllabus, which you have to be familiar with in order to pass the exam.

The exam is conducted by IREB-licensed certifying bodies. The exam is solely multiple choice. The questions as well as the sample solution are provided by the IREB, which enables the licensed certifiers to conduct the exams and verify the results.

Form of the Exam

The certification body can offer exams in writing or online. The certifier informs IREB e.V. in which form they offer the exam and where examinees can take the exam online. This information is published on the IREB's website:

In both cases, the certification body assures that the IREB's minimal requirements for the exam environment are fulfilled.

Procedure of the Exam

The exam regulations for CPRE Foundation Level define the process of the exam including assignment of points for evaluation of the final score. These exam regulations are compulsory for the certification body.

Place and Date/Time of Exams

The exams can be taken either

• Right after a training with the training provider or
• At a place assigned by the certifier.

Place and date/time of exams (in writing and online) are published on the website of the respective certification body.

The dates of exams with a training provider are stipulated in accordance with the certification body. These exams can also be taken by people who have not attended a training session with the respective training provider. Both, the training provider and the certification body, accept exam applications.
